Message from El-Supremo Monkey:
Wassup peeps, I'm Greg. That sholud be warning enough for ya. I'm a graduate of the less than illustrious Alabama School of Mathematics & Science (1998). After graduating from there, I bounced around colleges and jobs for a year:
So far, I've attended 3 Colleges and Universities, majored in 6 subjects, and worked at 3 businesses (all this in two years). Now I'm an editor for the Chattahoochee Valley Scholastic Chess League, Inc's newsletter
Weird huh? The kid who wanted to major in theoretical physics is studying philosophy at an engineering college. Isn't it ironic, or something?
Anyway, about me. I love chess, I play it, teach it, study it, live it, love it...enough said about that. I'm also a published author of several short stories, poems, and plays (if you would like any of my work send me an email at gwilder@hotmail.com) . I also enjoy reading, a LOT, mostly, I read a lot of Vonnegut, Pirsig and Heinlein (yes, they are a mottley crew, but I'm a mottley fool, and I'm the fool who did a term paper comparing Candide and the HitchHiker's Guide to the Universe Series. I also like playing basketball, ultimate frisbee, table tennis, and soccer, and I love to watch the NHL (what's up with the RT's now?, that's the dumbest thing to come out of Canada since Celine Dion).
New stuff on the site:
So far this year, nothing spectacular has happened, other than being named the new editor for the CVSCL, Inc.'s newsletter, and bombing my first paper for my Philosophy of Mind class. Only taking 15 hours this semester, well, I guess I shouldn't say only, since that is 5 classes (History of Philosophy:Ancient-Early Medieval, German Composition and Conversation I, German Culture & Civilization I, World History I, and Philosophy of Mind), but the sad thing is that the two philosophy classes are more work than the rest of the classes combined, although that's a bit of an overstatement too, since I'm barely passing German Culture & Civilization.
I recently joined the Auburn University Ultimate Frisbee Club Team, and have my first practice Tuesday, 11/7/2k. This should be interresting, seeing as my past experience playing frisbee has lead to some interresting injuries.
I promised you more, and you know what? You're gonna get it below:
